The dinner party, whilst still a high society affair, reveals some scandalous themes for the era. Hence the “peek-a-boo” cut out created for Variation Two: and the deeper upper cup neckline, with the exposed cradle, for Variation Three. All PDF pattern pieces are included for Variation One and Two. For Variation Three, instructions are given for creating the pleated cup pattern piece from the main cup pattern piece for Variation Two. (it is not its own separate pattern piece.)
The variation four is actually an adaptation of the power bar to have pin-tucks in the satin. The original version had a “space age” feel to it...and it seemed to reflect the 50's movie “Barbarella” for which it was named. Instructions for adding the pin tucks to the power bar to create the Barbarella bra, are in the Appendixes.
